Consulting Services

Housing consulting services provide personalized guidance to individuals and families facing housing instability. These services typically include:

  • Assessment of Housing Needs: Housing consultants assess a person’s housing situation, identifying barriers to stability such as financial difficulties, past evictions, or mental health challenges.

  • Housing Plan Development: Consultants help clients create individualized housing plans, outlining steps to secure stable housing, such as improving credit, budgeting, or searching for affordable housing.

  • Resource Coordination: Clients are connected with resources such as rental assistance programs, mental health services, or legal aid, to address issues that may threaten housing stability.

  • Advocacy: Housing consultants may advocate on behalf of clients to landlords, social service agencies, or other entities to secure better housing outcomes.

Housing Transition Services

Transition services focus on helping individuals move from temporary or unstable housing situations (e.g., shelters, transitional housing) into permanent, secure housing. These services typically include:

  • Housing Search Assistance: Assisting clients in finding suitable and affordable permanent housing options, which may include negotiating leases or securing deposits.

  • Application and Lease Support: Helping individuals navigate housing applications, understand lease agreements, and meet landlord requirements (e.g., credit checks, rental history).

  • Move-in Support: Facilitating the actual transition into new housing, including help with moving logistics, setting up utilities, and organizing the new living space.

  • Connecting to Community Resources: Helping individuals get access to services like transportation, healthcare, or employment opportunities that support housing success.

Sustaining Services

Sustaining services aim to help individuals and families maintain their housing once they’ve secured it. These services focus on preventing future instability and may include:

  • Ongoing Case Management: Providing continuous support to ensure clients meet their rental obligations, maintain good relationships with landlords, and adhere to lease agreements.

  • Crisis Prevention: Helping clients navigate any financial, behavioral, or legal crises that may arise, such as mediation with landlords, temporary financial assistance, or conflict resolution.

  • Tenant Education: Educating tenants on rights and responsibilities, financial management, home maintenance, and conflict resolution with neighbors or landlords.

  • Linkage to Services: Connecting individuals to long-term supports like mental health counseling, job training, and financial literacy programs to promote ongoing stability.
